OK, before I say anything else let me make it abundantly clear: This is porn. However, it still warrants notice as it tries to be an actual horror film as well, sometimes even at the expense of the eros.

A loser of a guy suffers from a serious addiction to XXX films. So much so that it is affecting most every part of his life. Even more so when he orders a mysterious DVD off the net that seems to be much more than just a movie.

So, as it is porn, how do the sex scenes hold up? Good and bad all at the same time. The lone girl involved in most all the scenes is attractive and more than willing perform, the sex itself is fully explicit, and the scenes are given a low-rent kind of artistic flair than makes then more watchable than standard skin flicks. But, where as most erotic flicks of this nature conclude with a sweaty embrace and a fade out, this instead treats viewers to some graphic/bloody violence of an explicitly sexual nature. It's hard to maintain a cheap arousal when some one is getting their head beat in with a hammer.

I digress though, while the violence tends to detract from the overall eros, it is still a welcome addition. Through the violence and demonic story line, the film is elevated above the seedy quality of strait porn fair and almost becomes a real film...almost.

Almost as in it still has all the production value of it's lesser kin. Shot on video, poorly lit, on-off acting, cheap looking locations, weak scripting, etc. Though I must again give props to the leading lady, her willingness to do just about anything asked of her is rather impressive.

Whom to recommend this to? Those with only a passing interest in horror might be turned off by the hard-core nature of the sex scenes and those looking for a simple skin flick might not be able to deal with the excessively graphic violence. Fans of extreme cinema are about the only ones I can comfortably pass a green light to.

Read the mid-range rating as an "A for effort".

I went to the screening for this film not knowing what to expect, and was delighted at what I saw. The director seems to know how to execute basic and intermediate camera techniques effectively. I was a bit put off by the inordinately long sex scenes. The film itself could have been shortened about 15 minutes and still have been as good. I was most impressed with the female actor and her ability to adapt to the script. The main male character could have done a better job at acting however. He seemed to be a major distraction to the flow of the piece. All in all, I give it thumbs up for a first attempt at a feature film and can't wait to see what else this director will come up with.

So being female, I'm not really that into porn, but I love horror movies. So when My boyfriend suggested watching Slaughter Disc...I was seriously like "what the hell? Why?" But to tell you the truth, I absolutely loved it! It had alittle more porn then I was ready for, but the special effects rocked! Caroline Pierce scared the crap out of me, seriously.

But no one really talks about my favorite...the girl who played Carrie, Jewels Mackenzie. Who is this girl? Where did she come from? Every since her chilling death scene, I just what to know more. Does anyone know anything about her? Cause I'd love to see more of her work. Hopefully in a non-porn setting.

Anyways, check out the movie...you won't be disappointed.

I must say that when I first heard about this film I wasn't to excited about the plot. I'm a huge gore hound but has never been the slightest interested in porn. I'm still not interested in porn but this is the first horror movie where I feel that the porn is justified. David Quitmeyer is walking on the thin line between porn and horror/gore that is so easy to fail but he handles it perfectly. The combination gives a suggestive and trustworthy voyage into the darker side of the human mind. The contrasts between "Mikes"(Robert Williams) pathetic life as a sex addict who lives in a simple boring environment and the marvelous Gothic domains of Andromeda Strange (Caroline Pierce) are brilliantly handled. This film definitely deserves a 10/10 and should be in every gore hounds collection. I have 3 copies. One to watch, one sealed for the collection and one for backup if anything terrible would happen.

Mike has a problem with porn. In fact he is hopelessly addicted to it. His whole life has become effected by it. In his quest for more porn he stumbles upon an ad in a magazine for an extreme porn movie. Without hesitation Mike is straight on the internet and orders the DVD. When it arrives he wastes no time in placing the disc in his player and having a fondle. But as he gets further into the disc over the following days he finds that people he knows are not only staring in the film, but being killed in it too.

Now first things first, this film is surpassed to be a horror/porn film, but all it really is, is a porno. The sex scenes go on for 10 - 15 minutes at a time and there are 3 or 4 of them. They just seem to be there to whack up the running time of the feeble storyline. Each scene ends with a little bit of violence, none of them are overly gory or creepy in anyway. Having such long sex scenes just really bored me to tell the truth. Now don't get me wrong I'm not against porn in anyway. God I have enough of it. But does there really have to be this much of it here? The main guy Mike has little to no development at all so its hard to feel anything for him. All we know is that he's lost his girlfriend and he watches to much porn.

The film is shot very basically. It seems the director just pointed the camera and shot the non porn scenes with no though about decent angles and movement. The sound was terrible. The actors could bearly be heard at times. This is explained buy the makers because the mic they used only recorded in mono and they didn't find out until after it was all shot but surely they could do a little ADR for the release of the DVD. A lot of reviews have praised the amount of gore in the film but I don't see where they are coming from. There was very little and any scenes that would have been good like the hammer scene, were all off screen.

A pretty poor effect if you ask me. They should just stick to making porno films where sound and production isn't really a worry. I found little of interest here as a horror or a porn fan. It was just really really boring to me and I found myself just begging for it to end.

As a reasonably open-minded fan of extreme cinema, I have no problem with the inclusion of hardcore sex in a film—particularly when the genre is horror, since sex and violence are a classic combo. The problem is that the two elements are rarely well integrated, and too often the result is a disharmonious product, with the emphasis on the humping often outweighing the horror.

Slaughter Disc is such a film.

Robert Williams plays Mike, a porn obsessed loser whose search for extreme sex leads him to a website where he purchases a DVD starring Andromeda Strange (Caroline Pierce), a weird goth XXX-star who has gained a reputation for nastiness. Robert soon becomes hooked on the depraved sexual antics of Ms. Strange, but with each viewing, what he witnesses on the disc becomes more and more disturbing.

Writer/director David Quitmeyer's 'Ringu'-style narrative is actually quite well relayed, with competent direction, and a reasonable performance from Williams as chronic masturbator Mike. But the strength of the tale is undermined by the incessant and overlong sex scenes which cause the flow of the film to falter. Each sex scene has a running time of around 10-15 minutes; fairly typical for a porno, perhaps, but wayyy too drawn out for a film hoping to tell a decent story as well.

In my opinion, Quitmeyer should have drastically reduced the quantity of sex (the blood and violence involved makes it fairly unerotic anyway) and upped the level of gore. The result would have been much more impressive.
