"Between Your Legs" is the story of a young couple living in Brooklyn who dream of a life in Manhattan. Jill (an acting student) and Seth (a wanna-be writer and of course, part-time waiter) are seeking an affordable NYC apartment. While Jill tries the conventional methods of apartment hunting - classified ads, brokers, and endless open houses - Seth chooses a more unique approach.

The "Subway Strangler" is on the loose in Manhattan. His prey? Teenage girls whom he attacks in the lonely corridors of the Subway, strangling them to death with his signature red bandanna. To Jill, this is just another great reason to avoid the commute and move to the city. But Seth realizes that the reward for the Strangler's capture would allow them to live a life of luxury in the city. So, naturally, he quits his job and becomes intent on finding the killer, and in turn making Jill happy. Seth soon becomes obsessed with his task, spending night and day on the trail of an elusive murderer, in hopes of hitting the jackpot.

Unfortunately, Jill is far from impressed with his efforts. Her frustration and dissatisfaction near boiling point, she recruits her friends from acting school to help her in her search. Tony and Jackie become her allies, all the while reminding Jill that Seth has lost his senses. Yet they too agree on a madcap scheme to find her a place to live. When Jill encounters Mr. Conelli, an older man with a heart condition - and more importantly, a rent controlled apartment - the trio hatch a plan to scare him to death, and create a new vacancy in his building.

Through these characters and their exploits, the viewer witnesses the absurd desperation of those who hope to become "Real New Yorkers". Anyone who has ever suffered any type of infatuation will empathize with the relentless couple. Yet through their turbulent relationship and the monologues of Seth, we become aware that things are not always what they seem.

Seth's reflections cast a new light on the actions of those around him, but we are reminded through dreamlike visuals that even his innermost thoughts are subject to that great irony of life: that the grass is often greener on the other side. As the story unfolds, Seth becomes aware that his own actions may be misguided. He discovers that only the truth, not Manhattan or even his girlfriend, can bring him happiness. Jill continues to chase the mirage of an urban utopia, but her eventual victory seems hollow and empty.

This comedic thriller is set in a stylized world where reckless capers are undertaken, friendships are tested, and the city itself is a principle character, dangerous and unpredictable for all its seductive charm.
