Ugh. As the summary says "information about the dome is revealed". The "information" was a tired sci-fi trope that departs too far from the previous flow of the series and just doesn't fit.

This 80 minute double episode is loaded with boring dialog about side topics that can't affect the future and don't reveal the past, with about 10 minutes of material that actually pushes the show forward.

Goodbye to this show.

2 stars because at least the special effects aren't garbage.

I had to skip forward through a lot of scenes. Only the first and last 5 minutes are worth watching; everything in the middle is an inconsequential waste of time.

Seriously? This is the type of show that has a good premise, relatively good actors. but HORRIBLE Direction, Production Design and Continuity. It is so bad, that you can't really take seriously whatever is happening, all seems ridiculously funny, and looks exactly as a Soap Opera. The quality of the image feels cheap. The photography is bad. And the script is PAINFUL... Oh! And the MAKE UP, specially blood and wounds looks extremely fake. Bad Job! The special effects look like the ones in a B movie from the 80s. I started to watch this series, because of the book, but directors and producers had made so many bad decisions. I am still hopping that they will bring something good at the end. CBS! Please!!! Change the direction and production of this series, it is making a great premise look immature and cheap!

I watched this on CBS over the air broadcast on a local station and hated it. It's cut so much for their damned commercials that it makes no sense, and one will lose interest in even taking the mute off your TV when they finally begin to play the show again.

My "little" nephew called me from Key West, where he's stationed, a few minutes before the show came on to let me know it was coming on. We're both King fans, and have read most of his books, including, "Under the Dome." He read it first, and opined I would probably adopt UTD as my all time favorite story in place of "The Stand", but that proved incorrect. UTD is my second favorite story and "The Stand" still stands. I was one up on my nephew, and informed him I had been looking forward to it all year, and it would air in 22 minutes. We talked for a while, and he said he needed to go down to the lounge so he could watch it in 22 minutes, and I told him it was now 11 minutes to UTD. That is how much I have anticipated this next installation of an excellent, EXCELLENT series.

My husband watched it with me, and we kept asking each other, "What's going on?" and "Are you following this?" Just HORRIBLE and unwatchable on TV.

I watched again in full at 123-1/2 minutes from another source, and it was excellent. It does jump around in time and reality, but without all the cuts and commercials, one can follow and enjoy it. Find the full episode. I can't wait for more installments and will probably even waste more time watching it on CBS broadcast initially, but pursue the full episodes elsewhere. It's easy to see why the previous reviewer hated it if all they saw was little over half the episode with numerous rude interruptions.

Also see if you can find S2 EP100. This is a 40 some minute review of S1 and S2, and will refresh your memory in preparation for watching S3 EP1.

Happy viewing, and don't give up on the series. Just don't expect to see it at its full potential as a vehicle for commercials. They did not air but about half of it in our local market on CBS. No wonder we were confused!

This show went from being a 'must see' to a 'if there's nothing better on' half way through the first series when I got fed up with the way the very unlikable Big Jim and Junior could seemingly get away with anything under the noses of the whole town and bounce back to herodom regardless of the nastiness they indulged in. Whatever bonus marks for the initial few episodes soon got struck off as it became less SciFi drama and suspended and more stupid sleepy silliness.

Unfortunately the 3rd series doesn't seem to have gotten off to a good start.

Its a confused mess with flash backs/forwards, confusing scenes and symbolism, and still too many boring characters and performances - will writers/directors/producers never learn that if you want to include such things do it sparsely or in blocks and not every 60 seconds in a random mishmash of forward/back/real/imagined...

What really bugs me thought is that this is supposedly taking place at approximately a week per series and already the dome has been forgotten by the outside world. Surely the external walls would be crawling with military and scientific equipment but instead the town is all alone after a just a few days - well apart from the obvious first attempt of throwing a MOABs at it...

Half way through Ss03e01 and so far its gone nowhere. It's a complete mess and I do wonder if I'll be awake at the end - and will I make time for ep02????? ....

...well actually I did make it to the end, and the surprise was anything but.

Boring, confused, waste of a good idea, ruining of a good series.

The few likable points and characters are simply overwhelmed by the inane and stupid. A polished look is not the same as looking good!

I give this a 3/10...and I think that's generous considering its a mess from first to last.

First thing I want to say. I'm shocked by the positive reviews here! Did we watch the same series? o.O

And well I cannot vote for Zero so "one" gonna be my weapon of choice. Seriously what did I have watched!? A double episode full of nonsense and trash. First two seasons I can easily life with it. In the words of Earl of Lemongrab (Adventure Time) "this is (totally) unacceptable"!

This setup was a cheap Matrix reproduction. An awful rape of Matrix I'd like to say. Shame on you guys. I quit the series and I never watch it again. That's for sure.

Time to say goodbye!

The first season was the best. Got tired of the bland character of Julia after the first season and I was so irritated by the big Jim character I was wishing they would kill him off. It was so stupid the way the writers had the other good characters seem not to be appalled by big Jim's bad deeds. Can't stand to watch a character murder people and the other leading characters act like its no big deal!! I think this is why the series began to lose viewers. The actor who played the hero Barbie was great in his role but I bet he just assumed because Spielberg was a producer that the show would be of a higher quality. The storyline after the first season went straight downhill. I decided not to watch anymore episodes but will look for the actors in other roles. What's going on with Spielberg?

I'm shocked by the negative reviews here, because I thought this was incredible. Yes, the show pulls the rug out from viewers, with deaths and new characters and misdirection, but I like that; it keeps things fresh. And it sets things up for the next few episodes, which have made some fascinating changes. Assumptions are challenged, villains realigned, heroes disappoint, but it all makes sense in light of the start of season 3.

I feel like a lot of people never "got" Under the Dome; it's always got a lot of pushback from viewers. For me, it has been just amazing all the way through, and this season continues that brilliance.
