Kiera Swan is a nod to Keira Knightley's Elizabeth Swan character from The Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Her accolade, "two-time winner of the Obsidian Sphere" is presumably a championship, but the name actually derives from the Black Pearl, Jack Sparrow's pirate ship.
The 'Jedi fortune cookie' message that opens the show reads "The strong survive, the noble overcome."
When Anakin goes to Yoda to talk about Obi-Wan, Yoda tells him: "If you leave, help him you could, but his future, uncertain it is." This line is very similar to what Yoda tells Luke in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) when Luke leaves Dagobah to help Han and Leia.
Bounty Hunter Derrown is based on an unused design by Ron Cobb for a plant-like cantina alien for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977).
The box is a series of rooms containing deadly traps, much like the Cube movie trilogy.
