The film was announced in 1997 and was never completed. In 2008 they tried to revive the film but it's been reported that the film hadn't even begun shooting it was all just an announcement. As of October 2016 the film is shelved and all the actor's involved have stated they have no desire to return to the film.
Amrish Puri's last film and was unreleased.
When the film was first launched, Anil Kapoor and Tabu were in the lead roles. When the producers changed, Akshay and Namrata were signed. Sonali Bendre was offered the film on 1993, but she was unsure about becoming a actress.
Satish Kaushik was to direct the film.
Shah Rukh Khan had signed the film. Due to non payment for his previous film Deewana from Shabnam Kapoor,he walked out of the film. Sunil Shetty replaced him.
