In 1992, a wealthy doctor was murdered at Huntsville, battered to death in his own home with a baseball bat. The actual perpetrator was soon fingered; there is no doubt that James White carried out the murder, but he was to claim that he had been hired to do it by Dr Wilson's wife Betty and her fraternal twin sister Peggy Lowe. What evidence was there of this? On the surface, not a lot, but Betty Wilson's superficially idyllic marriage turned out to be anything but. She admitted to having no fewer than six extra-marital affairs, all of them she claimed, with her husband's permission. Then there was the little matter of the missing gun; this had apparently been stolen by the murderer, the only thing that had been stolen from the house of this ostentatiously wealthy individual. The prosecution claimed this was the original murder weapon but that for whatever reason White decided not to use it. The two sisters were both charged and tried separately; Wilson was convicted, Lowe was cleared.

In this documentary, Paula Zahn interviews both sisters at length. James White was facing the death penalty, but was promised leniency if he cooperated with the prosecution. Although there is no doubt he told the police a pack of lies, several different packs in fact, there is hard evidence that Betty Wilson was behind the murder; as for her sister, well, let's say she got lucky. According to Wilson she was convicted because the jury perceived her as a "rich bitch", but by the same token her sister was probably acquitted because she portrayed herself as a good, upstanding Christian woman, packing the courtroom with her supporters.

There is at least one website that proclaims Betty Wilson's innocence, but likewise not included in this documentary is what appears to be further evidence of her guilt. A decade and more after the murder, the new owner of the doctor's home made a shocking discovery while renovating it. Aware of the history of the house he informed the authorities of the propane gas line that had apparently been sabotaged in an attempt to cause an explosion.
