Atomic Africa (2013) Online

Africa's development is being held back by poor infrastructure and undersized power plants. Countries like Uganda can only produce only 1/4 of the energy needed, leading to daily power cuts with disastrous economic impacts. It's a golden opportunity for nuclear giants who lobby aggressively for more power plants in Africa. But how safe are these new reactors? And what do they mean for the locals?

This 'documentary' seems to be saying that because of past problems with uranium mining, what it even says is illegal mining and government corruption, Africa shouldn't have nuclear power. Most of the film is about mining with a bare brush of the actual power issue.

Not saying the mining problems and corruption doesn't need to be addressed. But these problems are not nuclear power problems.

The film never even questions whether nuclear power would be acceptable if they, for instance, bought uranium from Australia.

Also, almost no discussion of how to bring electricity to the populace can be achieved.

This film is just a screed against government corruption and past practices.
