If the main character in the movie, Jacob, had not found his certificate the film had never been produced. It was not in Sweden, so the team had to go to Nicaragua without knowing it was there. It was found on a computer from the 80's who had not been running in 10 years. Fortunately, he found it and Jacob were able to prove that he bought the forest. Whether he finds his specific forest is a secret throughout the film.
