Empty Sidewalks is a dramatic story of love in a climate of war. The son of a war martyr, Barbod wins a scholarship in International Law and leaves the country to study abroad. At the university, he meets Sara, a Persian-speaking photography student born in Iraq, and soon learns that her father was a prisoner of war in Iran for five years, and that her family migrated to Turkey to escape the war ripping their country apart. Soon Barbod and Sara fall in love and decide to marry - but a shocking discovery brings their relationship to crisis point. The couple are horrified to realize that it was Sara's father who took Barbod's father's life during the Iran-Iraq war. Now Barbod must choose between his love for Sara, and avenging his father's death.
