Lucy tells the animals she has been to her first ballet lesson. She twirls around in the zoo enthusiastically. Lucy grabs Boris' paw and invites the (reluctant) bear for a dance. This reminds Molly the Hippo of her first ballet lesson. 'You, ballet?' The other animals look at her in disbelief. 'Oh yes', says Molly, 'Natalie the Antelope taught me how to dance!' Best friends Nathalie the antelope and Molly the hippo like to dance together across the plains. Nathalie moves with grace and elegance. Molly crashes about like a bull in a china shop - crushing plants in her wake, causing minor earthquakes when she leaps and jumps - but the two girls enjoy themselves nonetheless. One day Nathalie and Molly are told by Georgina Giraffe that a dance contest is being held by the river the next day. Anyone who wants to enter must dance a routine with a partner. Both girls are hugely excited by the news - they can be partners! - but most especially Nathalie because she so competitive by nature. ...
