This movie entitled,"Manedyer... si kumander",which could be an idiomatic expression of the words "my wife is the boss" in Tagalog,stars the real husband-and-wife Fernando Poe, Jr and Susan Roces. Poe,better also known as FPJ, is known for his portraying tough characters in his film career and the Philippine version of John Wayne especially during the 50's and 60's when Western Filipino movies were shown. Now, FPJ tries to become a parody of his screen persona by playing a character who lacks toughness and who is extremely intimidated of his wife. This movie is more of a spoof of FPJ which is an accepted standard of Filipino movies.

Too bad that it did not work as both Poe and Roces are not known to be great comedians with the former being known for action movies and the latter being great as a dramatic actress.Sometimes,the story simply becomes extremely silly and downright impertinent.

The film just tries to put Poe in a different screen persona that his movie fans are accustomed to make it a comedic film. Unfortunately, it won't work especially since comedic films are not the movies that both Poe and Roces are known for and that are comfortable with.
