While a guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers (2014), Andrew Rannells said that because he was the only gay man on the set during his sex scene with Corey Stoll, Rannells was asked to choreograph the scene. As he and Stoll had not known each other for very long, he felt the need to come up with small talk between takes while they were lying together naked. Rannells said that in an effort to make the shoot less awkward, he would ask Stoll questions like: "So what are you going to name your baby?" and "What's your wife wearing to your wedding?" while in the most intimate positions.

The title of this episode comes from the (real) tumblr that Marnie and Hannah discuss, "Old Loves," which publishes photos of celebrity couples who are no longer together. In 2014, Lena Dunham told Entertainment Weekly magazine that she was once scrolling through Old Loves when she discovered a photograph of her own (then-)boyfriend, musician Jack Antonoff, with his high school girlfriend, actress Scarlett Johansson.

Girls

Girls; being critically acclaimed and buzzed at Golden Globes for its originality, is a passion project of the creator and the protagonist, Lena Dunham whose creativity and genuine soul is what keeps this character driven series flow frictionless. The series is shot beautifully and the camera work is utterly pleasing which helps seek attention of the viewers. The writing is strong, witty and brutally honest sometimes, which can be inedible for viewers especially for it resonates eerily with reality that we all reside in. The characters or even the actors aren't given priority especially not at the compromise of the story-line which is what makes it different from one's usual sitcom. Addition to that, the series can afford and does offer a wider range where each notes connects and hits to the audience; from humor to intense drama. The primary reason why it works for the most part of it, is the uncertainty on its trajectory and the unflinching bold moves that writers tend to make to proves its maturity and superiority on standing on something that is equally practical as much as gut-wrenching. It is rich on technical aspects like sound department, costume design and editing. It is no short on execution as it communicates with the viewers and offers a palpable environment, that is cozy, raw, bold and uneven, in short an apt depiction of the current generation's social life. The performance is undeniably effective that helps create the anticipated impact on screen where most of the attention is drawn by Lena Dunham, Adam Driver and Andrew Rannells.

Season 05

Unlike any other season, the fifth acts explores and offers more complex and sometimes inedible plot sequences, which can be seen clearly while the paper was executed on screen as it tends to sweat the makers to depict or create such scenes (also one of the reason why there may be few flaws in here) despite of being supported by stellar performance that usually is the heart of the series.

Old Loves

A quite darker and shady episode with a poignant ending, despite of focusing and keeping it lighter and the primary reason to that would be the common emptiness projected in the character's perspective wisely by the writers.
