After Playmate candidate Claire Sinclair's photo session, she is invited to the Bunny House (adjacent to the Playboy Mansion) for a barbecue. At the barbecue, she meets the Playmates who live in the house, and Hef informs her that she is going to be a Playmate herself. With the Shannon twins having moved out of the house, the master bedroom is vacant, and among those vying to move in are Hope Dworaczyk, Crystal McCahill, and Jayde Nicole. Although Hope and Crystal are best friends, Jayde believes she should room with Hope because they are both Playmates of the Year. Jayde goes with Hope to Las Vegas to prepare for Hope's Playmate of the Year celebration. Hope drafts a speech to give at the event, but Jayde encourages her to tear it up and speak from the heart, which she does. Later, Hef authorizes Claire to move into the Bunny House. The planned seventh season of The Girls of the Playboy Mansion (2005) was to begin regularly featuring the residents of the Playmate House after Karissa Shannon and Kristina Shannon moved in following their break-ups with Hugh Hefner in January 2010. However Hefner asked them to move out after being displeased they had boyfriends. With Crystal Hefner as the only remaining cast member of The Girls Next Door, it was decided a backdoor pilot that would focus completely on the residents of the Playmate House would be filmed.
