Peter Cushing (John Rollason), Arnold Marlé (The Lama of Rong-ruk Monastery) and Wolfe Morris (Kusang) are the only actors to reprise their roles in the film remake Le redoutable homme des neiges (1957).

Writer Nigel Kneale recalled that viewers were unintentionally treated to a glimpse of a BBC stagehand, keen to get home early, caught on camera whilst sweeping up the sawdust 'snow'.
