The idea for the story of this movie came from Salman Khan.
Salman Khan wanted to direct the film.
Film released in December 1990 nearly a year after Maine pyar kiya. It was a superhit and Salman Khan was declared a top hero with back to back superhits.
Nagma was 15 years old when she did the film.
Salman Khan and Nitin Manmohaj had a very bad falling out after the film released. Nitin stated Salman had a attitude problem because of his newly found stardom. Nitin stated when ever he had a difference of opinion with the director Deepak Shivdasani, Salman would then side wth Deepak. After the film was complete, Salman insisted his father Salim Khan watch the film and implement all changes his father had suggested.
To promote the film, producer Nitin Manmohan had car stickers made, with the caption: "Shut up, I am BAAGHI. Unnecessary honkers, beware...".
The producer added a song to the film, "Tap Tap Tapori", after the film was ready and its release date had been announced.
Deepak Shivdasani wanted Ritu Shivpuri for the film. But she was undecided about a film career at that point.
The song Tapori was sampled from Agni Nakhshatram song Raja Rajathi.
