The first episode in which the Professor does not appear.

This episode ties into several past episodes, most notably "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid" (Episode 307), to which this episode is considered a direct sequel. It also connects heavily with the first episode, "Space Pilot 3000" (episode 101). Also, "Jurassic Bark" (episode 407), in which we see Nibbler looking out of a garbage can in the lab as he does in this episode. And with "Roswell That End Well" (episode 319) in that it references the fact that Fry's brain was effected by having had sex with his own grandmother.

The letters on the Nibblonian obelisks read "Fuzzy Wuzzy" this time.

Sign at Elzar's: "Bathroom is for Stroganoff Customers only!"

Opening subtitle: "Dancing Space Potatoes? You Bet!"

Bender has a picture of Monique (the fem-bot from "All My Circuits") in his locker.

The book that Amy is reading is called "Martians are from Mars, Venusians are from Venus".

This episode takes place in 3003 and on December 31, 1999.

The idea that Nibbler pushed Fry into the cryogenic chamber on New Year's Eve 1999 was apparently planned from the very beginning of the series. In the first episode, Futurama: Space Pilot 3000 (1999), Nibbler's shadow can be seen under the desk.
