It's Christmas time and the pressure of work means that Blue Moon has to work and the staff are not happy. Maddie is also under pressure and says she regrets keeping the agency open. Her guardian angel approaches her and shows her how life would have been if she hadn't kept the agency open. The agency becomes the Hart Detective agency run by Jonathan and Jennifer Hart. The angel then shows her what all the other employees and David end up doing.

The producers, convinced that Cybill Shepherd was unhappy working on the show, created this episode with the intention of killing off Maddie. ABC was staunchly against it.
The episode has a dream sequence where the Blue Moon detective agency becomes the Hart Detective Agency, with an employee named Max, played by Lionel Stander. Both are in-joke references to Hart to Hart (1979).
