Bree Mills and her director Alan have applied a facetious tone that mars most of their work, but in "Going Bonkers" they have crafted an extremely entertaining comedy that hits all the right notes. I felt rewarded watching it, after sticking with them for many dozens of lesser, more pretentious efforts.

This story started as a two-parter support subject included in the DVD compilation "Flashback", a Riley Reid-starrer about fantasy time travel/nostalgia. Kenna James starred in "Spellbound Kiss", casting a love-spell (Wiccan witchery is producer Mills' touchstone subject) that got her into a pickle with step-mom/lover (what else?) Angela Sommers.

The key third person in that very slight comedy filler was Mr. Bonkers, a teddy bear who Kenna talks to, and who figures prominently in this 3- part followup "Going Bonkers". He moves a bit like a Muppet (no SPFX) and his salty language is intentionally ripped off from the creation Ted that has been inflicted on us by Seth MacFarlane. Call it sacrilege but I honestly enjoyed the sit-com and slapstick in "Going Bonkers" far more than the silly, indulgent nonsense of Seth's original. At least nothing comparable to his idiotic bringing back Sam J. Jones to the screen occurs here.

Also winning me over is the setting of "Bonkers", shot at the "Immoral Proposal" mansion, the most frequently used and attractive porn location over the past five years. Alan the director makes terrific use of the mansion with its distinctive spiral staircase, oval-paned doors, long corridors and nonpareil white-on-white decor, perfect backdrop for the comical nuttiness of this story.

As bad influence, Mr. Bonkers encourages Kenna to cast a love-spell to get Bree (Daniels) to fall for her, despite the disastrous results of last time, that ended Angela's marriage. The complications that ensue are familiar, but very well acted by especially Kenna, a lovely, engaging performer who deserves to jump to worthy mainstream roles pronto (sorry, it won't happen, given the low esteem Adult Cinema/Video is granted these days).

Besides Bree, the other part of the triangle is popular newcomer Lana Rhoades, very sexy as they head for the inevitable threesome. "Bonkers" is given an open-ending and clearly deserves further installments.

Filling in the program is a short subject titled "Celebrity Scandal", in which the great Reena Sky portrays not a Kerry Washington type but a kindred spirit whose job is to repair the damage of celebrity hi-jinks. Hijinker in question is Chanel Preston, doing a fine drunk routine as she flounders in the wake of bad publicity, and decides in Trumpian spur of the moment fashion to create a lesbian story line in which she is linked to new adviser Reena. It makes no sense, but gets the two into the sack for a solid humping scene, one that goes against the Mills/Stills grain by omitting any "sweet young thing" casting, almost a prerequisite for their fan base to watch.

I hope this solid comedy effort goes along with their romantic successes (notably "Sharing the Bed") to give solid feedback to the filmmakers, whose ventures into genre fiction (horror/sci-fi/suspense) have floundered.
