Coming out of the closed off West Wing in Collinwood's upstairs hallway, David (David Henesy) offers to return the letter he took from Vicki (Alexandra Moltke), but she is more interested in the "bleeder valve" removed from the master brake cylinder of Roger's car. After finding it in his bedroom, Vicki confronts David with his crime. Meanwhile, at the Collinsport police station, Roger (Louis Edmonds) demands Constable Carter (Michael Currie) step up his investigation. Carter gets a warrant to search Burke's room. Liz (Joan Bennett) doesn't believe Vicki's accusations...

Episode 26 is a pretty eventful and emotional episode of the show. It focuses on a battle of wits between Victoria and David, as the former has found out the latter's secret, namely that he caused his own father's car accident. David isn't about to admit his guilt so easily and there's a lot of sneaking around in bedrooms and showdowns as a result. This highly charged episode is a step up from the quieter episodes featured previously.
