"I'll Get By" was a remake of "Tin Pan Alley" with Gloria DeHaven in the Alice Faye part and William Lundigan playing the role originated by John Payne, who in the interim had married DeHaven.
The set used for the Martin sisters' apartment is the identical set used that same year by Fox for Margo Channing's apartment in Всё о Еве (1950).
Fox contract players Jeanne Crain, Victor Mature and Dan Dailey, along with Reginald Gardiner, appear as themselves in unbilled cameos. Amusingly, in the film's plot, Crain persistently calls the song publishers for a new song she plans to sing at a benefit, likely a studio in-joke, as Crain's voice was always dubbed in her musicals.
