Dealing With Destiny is a fun, light hearted college flick about a group of friends getting through their the last day of university. The story unfolds as all of the characters are forced to make big decisions about their future, whilst a series of hilarious pranks play out.

Blake (Luke Arnold) and Lloyd (Clayton Moss) are best friends working on a major project. Lloyd is in love with Zara (Catherine Jermanus), the spiritual card reader, and they wind up in a hilarious love triangle with Blake. The storyline develops as Blake, the nice guy is forced to make a choice between his academic future and his loyalty to his best friend.

The best laughs are had with Ricardo (Steve Maresca) the chubby drop out chasing his dream girl, and Vinnie (Roger Sciberras) who is madly in love with his car.

The acting is this film was world class and you should expect to see these actors appearing in many more high profile films in the near future. With a great soundtrack and some brilliant shots of spectacular locations around Sydney, this film is definitely worth watching for a good laugh.

I remember seeing this at Hoyts Central. My boyfriend and I didn't know what to expect but we enjoyed it, it didn't feel like it was a wasted ticket. If you're wondering, it's a dumb yet fun comedy film. That's about it really. It's not a 'chick flick' but again its not just for guys either. The acting in the film was what made it work for me. The cute Luke Arnold carried the film very well as the leading man. I totally agree with the Filmink review, I really loved the performances by Clayton Moss, Steve Maresca and Catherine Jermanus though. They stood out for me too, the film just wouldn't be what it is without either of them. Catherine brought a strong female presence and intelligence to her likable character, Zara, within the male dominated cast. Clayton's manic character, Lloyd, had the most depth, going from pretentious private school guy to conflicted emotional firecracker to Mr Sensitive. And the character, Ricardo, played by Steve Maresca was just too, too funny. His characters final scene made me cry, it's hilarious but really gross. It's a great debut film for all those actors. I can see them going onto bigger things.

And Gillian Cooper, your last scene rocks girl! Haha :D

Why can't we make more films like this?

Dealing with destiny is a light-hearted comedy that is fun for everyone! We know the formula, a bunch of University students nearing their graduation date want to have a little fun before they finally disperse for good. There are plenty of American college films featuring boys and pranks so it is refreshing to finally see an Australian version. This film is not trying to hard to be anything but pure popcorn fun and laughs. The target audience is for the younger kids, especially the young girls once they catch sight of the main man Luke! These young Aussie actors show brilliant charm and charisma and manage to portray their characters with just the right amount of enthusiasm, definitely won't be the last we see of these talented young individuals. This film is not pushing any ground breaking new levels, what the film makers have done is utilized their relatively small budget to make a simple but effective film. It may be formulaic in principle but the story will surprise you, especially the ending. The whole family were well entertained. Well worth the download!
