Finally! It's about time there was a positive refreshing movie about black people falling in love. It's great to see a movie that doesn't depend on sex, drugs and violence to tell the story. This is a must see for anyone who appreciates a good solid story.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it highly. The lead actress had great screen presence. All the characters were multi-dimensional and interesting.

The script was realistic and funny. This is a movie that everyone can relate to. It definitely has all the elements: great script, talented cast and excellent visuals. It kept me entertained the entire time.

What a beautiful love story! To see a love story that doesn't contain bed-hopping, drug using, or a litany of four-letter words, is truly refreshing! Nicole (Renee Elise Goldsberry) and Brian (Terron Brooks) are merely two people who grow steadily attracted to each other as they struggle to overcome some personal issues and find their mark, and together, they find it. The music/singing is a plus!!!! The acting is great (Terron Brooks makes me wish for younger days)! I cannot decide which scene is my favorite: the post wedding reception scene when they discover that they are truly attracted to each other and seal it with a kiss, OR the closing scene, when Brian lays it all on the line by dedicating and singing the song "Surprise" to Nicole. Great job !!

This is a well-produced film, with beautiful cast, story and music. Sensual, emotive and clean-cut, the relationship between lead actor and actress really gave me goosebumps. Though the story is typical, the music makes the movies unique. It's quiet, without violence. It's smooth without vulgarity. It shows how most people of color really live without using the stereotypes common to films about African Americans. The usual silliness is absent in this film. The story of boy meets girl unfolds with a very happy, soothing ending.

The supporting cast are fresh, funny and entertaining. We need more and more movies like All About You.

Thanks to the producers for having the courage to make this beautiful love story. Keep up the good work. We need more love in the world of film.

This is a lovely story set in some beautiful places. The actors playing the leads were very attractive and even though one knows the ending in a romantic comedy, the plots turns were still fun. The only critique I have for it, is that seeing the female lead smoking was extremely unattractive, out of place in such a sweet story.

A friend told me about this movie, as she'd really enjoyed it and I have to say I did as well. The actors were actually the singers in the music performances and while the syncing was sometimes obvious, it added to the freshman charm. There was a real affection in the way the actors were lit and photographed.

I love this movie.IT Touches the heart, because you see a movie without sex. How can I get the songs in the movie? It is so good to see two young people sit and talk about up building things. The way they were able to feel for each other without words. This movie brought tears to my eyes, and I'm not a baby. It is hard to turn on your TV and fine a movie that can be recommended to your friends. I have been married for 35 years, this movie made me remember the way you would fall in love. How you would look forward to seeing that person. How your heart would pain until they came into sight. This is the way people would grow in love.I also appreciated the way they tried to understand each others background. The way they had something in common, they both lost their mothers. Speaking about the music, it added the right touch. My hat is off to the composer.

I watched this on some movie channel the other day, and I found myself being drawn in by the story. I knew from the time the two leads met and started butting heads, that they would get together in the end. However, I was still endeared by the characters and their individual struggles that ultimately leads them to one another. Renee Goldsberry delivers a touching performance, and Terron Brooks compliments her well. He also has a great singing voice. I would love to get my hands on the soundtrack. I would recommend this movie if you are a hopeless romantic like me. And even if you are not, I would still give it a try. It is a nice story.

This film was very well put together writing, editing, and acting wise. I could relate on so many levels to the main characters in the story. This is a must see for anyone who has been or is in love. Better still, everyone whether in love or not should see this movie period.

This movie & Music was the BEST! EVERYONE WANTS THE SOUNDTRACK & HERE'S HOW to ORDER it! I also ordered the movie(and the deleted scenes were awesome! Lots more kissing scenes!!)By the way, not only do Terron Brooks (what a hottie!) and Renee Goldsberry sing their own songs, they WROTE them too! If you want to 'Leave room for the surprises' then call to get their soundtrack @ their corporate office 704-442-9417 or www.AllAboutYouMovie.com and click on Buy Merhandise then hit Contact. There are 4 beautiful full length songs by Terron that will make you MELT, 1 by Renee, a solo sax number for the title song by all time great Gene Albright! Also, Sy Smith is on it too (the beautiful girl with the tongue ring and blue eyeshadow, that sings when Robbie comes into the club suddenly?) she is on the soundtrack too (Heaven is in your eyes). You won't be disappointed. I can assure you of that!

Three Stars- - - -This movie was wonderfully scripted and went beyond the typical romantic movie profile: Boy meets Girl, Girl falls in love with love scenario. The characters, even the underlying ones, were all in 3-D. And the movie stayed True To the Game. It was romantically moving with a twist and was very enjoyable. The drama was outstanding and did not go overboard. The actors, Renee Goldsberry and Terron Brooks (with his f-i-n-e self) get 10 out of 10 for this one. The writer (Christine Swanson) and the producers get a '2-thumbs up.' The supporting actors (Vanessa Bell Calloway, LisaRaye, Debbie Allen, Lou Meyers and my main man from Soul Food - - Rockmond Dunbar) get kudos as well - - 'they couldn't make it without ya'll.' The lives of each of the characters were far from the norm usually portrayed by the industry. The music was original, yet creative, and the wedding scene was a good add-in, which also was in keeping with the far from the norm theme. I am so glad I came upon this one when searching the STARS InDemand Movies. I'll watch this one again before the showing time expires.

I truly enjoyed this movie. I keep going back and forth on my tivo to listen to the songs. My heart melts when he sings "Never fall in love again" and he ends the song with, but i was wrong. AAAAAHHHHHH, so romantic.

And of course the wedding and the finally........Surprise!!! I am waiting for y surprise. I would love to have those songs. I almost didn't realize that was the Actor who played Eddie Kendricks until i heard him speak and he and Renee actually song those songs. Great job those two. If anyone can tell me how to obtain it O would appreciate it.

After reviewing this movie 5 times, I can truly say that this was an excellent, heart warming African American love story. This is the type of film that you can feel comfortable recommending to a wide range of people. The sound track is so great, you'll want to go out and purchase it! Renee Goldsberry does an excellent job on the writing and singing of most of the sound tracks and Terron Brooks does not short stop! The DVD contained information and cut scenes which enhanced my appreciation of the work that went into producing this film. The only improvement that I would have liked to have seen was a building up of the relationship between the 2 lead characters and a little more depth to the psyche of these characters (some of which was lost by the deleted scenes). The movie seemed to jump too fast to get to that point (again, probably due to deleted scenes). But, overall, just great, great, great!

I appreciated this rich film by husband and wife team, Michael and Christine Swanson. I watched the movie several times, mainly because of the music. Engaging; Renee Elise Goldsberry's vocals mixed with the charming sensitive voice of talented newcomer Terron Brooks (who portrayed Eddie Kendricks in "The Temptations") kept my attention. Also, their character's budding sweet love was attractive; It is very rare Black love is seen on film, untainted by pointless eroticism, profanity, low-class gutter characterizations which only belittle and stereotype what our lives are all about. "All About You" portrays the life of a young woman (Nicole(Goldsberry)) who feels rejected as a result of an unexpected turn of events of her love life, then almost misses out on the opportunity for another chance with someone else (Brian (Brooks)), who almost does the same, until fate and music steps in to guide them to each other. Simply Wonderful. Just Wonderful

I found this at a used DVD store and decided to give it a whirl (hey, I could always sell it on Ebay if I didn't like it!) This was a surprisingly pleasant highlight of my weekend!

The script was good, the acting was solid (despite the bitter comments of the previous reviewer; not Oscar-worthy, but still solid), and the soundtrack was great! There were some acting veterans that nicely rounded out the cast, such as Vanessa Bell Calloway, Lou Myers and the incomparable Debbie Allen. This movie is very relevant to today's dating scene. I would even pay full price for this movie, which is a minor miracle. Rent it and see for yourself (and don't forget to watch the deleted scenes! They provide additional context). This is what what more black films (and Hollywood) should strive to emulate, and it gives another layer of credence to independent film-making.

This first thing to say is that Renee Goldsberry is a beautiful woman. The movie incredibly sees her being ditched by the man she saw herself spending the rest of her life with. What then follows is how some people would cope with rejection and then along comes Brian and he to has been hurt in the past. What then follows is the things that has happened and will continue to happen in relationships coming together and misunderstandings. What makes this film work is the obvious chemistry between the leading and leading man and what in my book bumps this film up to an eight out of ten is the fact that they sing their own songs. Loved it. My only gripe is that the DVD does not have subtitles.

This movie is one my favorites. I am a music lover, and I enjoyed all the music in the movie. I enjoyed this movie because the writer shows the viewer that it doesn't take a macho man to woo a woman. It takes a caring man who can sing (ha! ha!) to woo a woman. Seriously, this movie shows another type of love that needs to be shown more frequently on screen. It's also a plus that the movie shows pure African-American love without the doggish, mac-daddy, pimping, and obnoxious behaviors. I recommend the movie to anyone that believes in the purity of love and understands that it doesn't take profane language and sex to make a movie wonderful. Plus, I absolutely love Terron's voice. He makes true love believable.

Charmingly Amazing...Just Gotta Love This Love Story

I loved this movie. It touched me in a nice way that reminded me of the movie "Hav Plenty". This seemingly low keyed love story has a cast that will knock your socks off. Get ready for this...Renee' Goldsberry (The Jackson's: An American Dream), Terron Brooks (played Eddie Kendricks in The Temptations), Tico Wells (The Five Heartbeats), Chris Spencer (he has been all over the place), Rockmond Dunbar (Soul Food Series on Showtime), LisaRaye (The Players Club), Debbie Allen (from Houston and has done it all...acting/directing/choreography), Lou Myers (Different World) and Vanessa Bell Calloway (BET, Coming to America) bring this story to life. The characters are unforgettable. Nicole has a lightbulb moment in her relationship with Robbie. She realizes that his long term plans do not include her. She runs off to sort things out and wait for him to chase after her. Her roommate (LisaRaye) sublets her apartment to Brian (who is the adopted brother of Robbie and has been estranged from his family for several years). Nicole and Brian both have personal issues to deal with. In the midst of dealing with their own issues, they find love unexpectedly. Both of them are working at a club called Toomie's which adds flavor, some really nice music and a few laughs to the movie.

This is a cute, charming, heart warming, feel good kind of movie. A treat awaits after the movie is over. The viewer gets to see the scenes that were scrapped, but were just as good as the ones that were included in the movie.

This movie is as good a romance movie as anything since the days of Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. It has humor, a clear distinction between the good and bad characters and enough romance to make a strong person weep. The movie was obviously a low-budget project with less than grandiose expectations. The Soundtrack was marvelous, as others have so eloquently stated before. Terron Brooks may have won a Grammy for his singing had this soundtrack been marketed through mainstream channels. All the characters, even the not so likable ones, did a great job in the picture. Were the lighting, filming and color always perfect? No! That's exactly why I changed my vote from a "9" to a "10." The Director, Producer and actors for this film should all be applauded for a job well done. They did what they had to do with what they had to work with and that is why I watch movies in the first place. Please, please, please put Lisaraye, Terron, Renee, Tico, Bobby, Chris, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Lou Myers, Debbie Allen and all these characters back on the screen for another go round. Every time I play the title song "All About You," my guests want a copy of the recording, but its hard to find. If Terron comes to my town to give a concert, with or without Renee Goldsberry, I will be the first in line at the box office.

This movie gets five stars for having fly Renee Goldsberry and fly Lisa Raye in it! Vanessa Bell-Calloway had a few lines in this movie. It was funny to see Lou Myers play Toomie, the owner of the club. He played that role the same way he played the role of Mr. Gaines on A Different World. Of course this movie had to have a fairytale ending just like most other love story movies. Debbie Allen has acted much much better in other movies than she did in this one. Chris Spencer needs to go back to hosting late night talk shows and stop acting. Overall, this movie had no sex, no violence, and no profanity. There was just a lot of mediocre singing and performance in this movie.

Now I've seen some bad movies in my time, but anyone with a positive comment about this rubbish must be related to someone from the cast or crew.

The script is a disgrace to filmaking, the directing was shabby and amateurish, and the acting by the lead characters was so wooden that anyone else on the screen with a shred of talent looked as terrible as they did. The smarmy football player was the best actor in the bunch, and believe me, that aint saying much!

I'm trying to spare you the shame of admitting that you saw this film. Don't waste your life watching this. It's absolute crap.

Dreadful score, the direction is very amateurish, and the acting is well below average. Cheaply done and it looks it. The story isn't even that interesting. I can't see why they bothered to make it. What really irks me is how the totally obscure director (Christine Swanson) is listed as an award winning director. She won one award - Short Film Award at, get this, The Acapulco Black Film Festival!!!! Now there is a major achievement! Was she employee of the month at Wal-Mart too? Better yet, before the credits, it says that All About Us became a best selling DVD. It isn't even out yet on DVD, (Today's date 06/22/08, street date for the movie 07/01/08) so how can it be a best seller already!!! And it is very likely it won't sell at all. Misleading lies. What a turn off.
