Walk Through The Valley was filmed in 9 days and wrapped on schedule. Preproduction took 5 months along with story-boarding, prop purchases, location scouting and locking.
Three DSLR photo cameras were used to film the movie; Canon T4i, Canon 60D and Nikon D800.
None of the monitors worked on set, through the DSLR's, so the director directed the film without monitors.
Lots of footage was lost during production, so the completed film is made up of a mixture of actual footage from production and stock footage.
The director had to edit the film due to the footage loss, as well as add visual effects with the help of Creative Cow assistance and Youtube instructional videos. Sound effects and music were all stock.
The entire script had to be altered/rewritten in post-production to make up for the loss footage. All of Post production took 17 months to complete.
Cast rehearsals were on the national Conference Call Bridge, because many of the actors lived out of town. The actors worked mostly on their backstory when not at rehearsal.
ADR's were either on cell phone or computer, and the director/editor matched the audio with the footage.
Key Wardrobe pulled out the last minute, and the Assistant Key Wardrobe pulled the weight with the help of the script supervisor on continuity.
The last scene was filmed one year after production wrapped.
