Davide Tommasi is the last wheel of the wagon. His boss enslaves him and his colleagues treat him like a bathroom carpet. Despite the daily humiliations, he dreams of being promoted. Saying goodbye to short- term contracts seems to be a "Mission Impossible", but Davide is as determined as a samurai. Delphina is a French diva. Chic, beautiful and decadent, she only comes out at night - lost in the city lights. Like every femme fatale, she's wrapped up in mystery. Davide and Delphina seem to be from different planets, but they share a little secret..

A dark comedy based on a short story by Lara Celenza, 'The Misadventures of F. Tommasi'. An important source of inspiration is the short story 'The Overcoat' by Nikolay Gogol. According to the author, Davide Tommasi is a 21st century Akaky Akakievich. The name Davide contains an ironic Biblical reference (David and Goliath).
The cast is made up mostly by theater actors trained with the Stanislavsky-Strasberg method. A significant exception is Mario Bruno (who plays Alfonso Maria Peterfiglio) - he's a boss in real life as well.
"Delphina" is a zero budget film. All participants worked on a voluntary basis and with no previous experience - in the spirit of "Absolute Beginners". For technical reasons the film was dubbed in a homemade recording studio set up on purpose.
