Turn Around (2007) Online

Based on the story of Alma the Younger. Sara is at the top of her game. She has the chance to be chosen for an elite summer tennis program, but her hopes are dashed unexpectedly by the one person no one likes - Colton. Colton is at the bottom of life, constantly leading others away, hurting people, giving no one respect, and making fun of other teens for going to church. But then his parents pray for some intervention in his life. When he's partying one night, Colton ends up in a car wreck with Sara, and goes through an experience that changes him. But facing life after you've done everything wrong can sometimes be the hardest step, and Colton must find a way to prove to everyone - especially to Sara - that he's changed.

Turn Around & Overcome are the exact same movie, with only scenes pertaining to the Bible being modified to fit the Denomination (Mormon or Christian) it is portraying. It has the same cast, although the actors names have been changed in the cast list. Jaci Twiss is Jaycee Lynn; Jordon Sorenson is Aaron U. Brown; Matthew Reese is Matthew Davis. There are also other movies out by these companies that are done in the same way, just changing scenes to fit the Denomination format; Rescued -and- Island of Grace; Beauty & the Beast: A Latter-Day Tale -and- Belle & the Beast: A Christian Romance.

I did like the movies & the message they portray, however, I don't understand why they release the same movie, same actors, but change not only the name of the movie (which is a little understandable) but also the actors names (which I feel is deceptive).

Although noticeable that it was a low budget film, it was quite enjoyable to watch. I believe it to be a whole lot better than some of the independent LDS films. As always in LDS films, you have actors who aren't that strong in their roles. Taking in consideration, that this is not a HUGE motion picture. But for the most part, the main characters were more professional with more experience of course, and played their role very well. The main point and the overall moral of this movie was rather pleasing. This film is a very entertaining movie that you can enjoy with your family. And a lot good moral family movies you can't find a whole lot of these days.

For those who are members of the LDS Church (for whom this movie was made), you'll know exactly what I mean when I say that this is nothing more than an extended seminary video (better than Tom Trails, but somewhat along the lines of Like Unto Us).

The acting is awful (especially by the people playing the male lead's parents). The special effects do not exist (where they could have done more than some quick flashback pictures for the "death" scene). No one kisses or hits anyone else. What you suppose to be beer is seen only in colored plastic cups so that you are not sure.

I'll give it three stars just because the female lead seems to be trying, though her facial expressions in some scenes show how frustrated she is with the really bad material.

Watch this movie only if you enjoy seminary videos.
