When Cohen is beset by some rowdies who fell him, there is one with the makings of a hero and strong arms who comes to his rescue and drives off his assailants. He assists Cohen to arise, helps him on his way and shows him other acts of considerate kindness, and Cohen, grateful to his benefactor, blesses him and asks for his card, so that he can ever remember the youth who came to his aid in his hour of distress. The time passes, as it has a way of doing, bringing changes, and, in the hearts and lives of some, storm and strife. Into the home of Harry Burton, Cohen's champion, enters misfortune; with weary footsteps, poverty-stricken, ideal, bleak and desolate is the existence of Harry and his aged mother, who, through the strain and stress, falls ill. The doctor must be had; there are no funds to pay the bill he will tender. Harry takes his watch, decides to pawn it and with the money he will obtain, procure medical aid for his sick mother.
