A new opening sequence is introduced. It starts a graphic of the Wheel with the logo in gold letters over a purple background. In addition, the "O" in "of" is a normal-looking O instead of Wheel-shaped, like the two-row logo. As the letters fly towards the screen, the Wheel graphic rotates towards its side to reveal hand-drawn animations of Pat and Vanna "riding" the middle of it, with various America-related graphics in the background. The Wheel graphic then tilts again and finally ends with the animated Pat and Vanna parachuting.

The Wheel of Fortune theme song, "Changing Keys", is rearranged with a big-band style orchestration in a slower and slight altered melody. In addition there are now two versions of the theme, one that plays during the opening sequence and one that plays during the closing and going to commercial. This 1994 arrangement is performed by Mort Lindsey's orchestra.

The puzzleboard gets a new boarder with golden spikes that light up and lights that extend the bottom.

The "Megaword" category makes it's debut. In this category, a contestant must use the word in the solved puzzle in a sentence.
