Maluquinho's furniture is mostly composed of used furnishings. Art direction wanted to make the house set as real as possible.
Sarah Maciel used a wig resembling Julieta's trademark dark curly hair from the comics. The crew had first tried to make a perm and tested a hair extension before her naturally smooth hair proved too difficult to curl.
Shirley Valéria (the "it girl" in Maluquinho's gang) sports a green hair stand. In the comics it is Pagú who sports a green short hair.
The adult Maluquinho is played by Fernando Alves Pinto, Ziraldo's nephew.
In the June Festival episode, Maluquinho tells his mother as she dresses him for the ball that he and Julieta are going to marry "hoje" ("today"), with H and J", giving a hint of his real name.
The first live-action series to depict Maluquinho and Herman as "frenemies" like in the comics. They are seen as good friends in Menino Maluquinho: O Filme (1995).
One of Pedro Saback and Felipe Severo's very few acting roles. Notably, Samuel Costa who starred in Menino Maluquinho: O Filme (1995) quit acting at a young age.
In the final episode, whilst Maluquinho's three stages meet each other in the beach, his best friend Bocão (at ten years) also meets, briefly, Maluquinho's mother from the past (from when the boy was still five).
