Don says he named the chicken he has been carrying around in his backpack "Debbie." This is a nod to the original series in which Don found "Debbie the Bloop" (a chimp-like creature with a large cranium and extended ears) whom he gave to Penny as a pet.

The character of Angela is an homage to Angela Cartwright, the actress who played Penny in the original series.

When the parents and Don west arrived at the crash site of the Resolute piece, both doors on the pod opens up, the view from above the pod makes the pod looks like the original series pod, which had a big rectangular window.

The fourth installment in the series brings us a quieter and more relationship-exploring episode. We explore the spousal tensions, sibling bonding and trust, politics, power-posturing manipulation, and Jupiter neighbors. As has quickly become the norm, the more we learn, the more questions there are to be answered. While some characters are becoming more endearing, others are less and less likable (and that's not just the established villain...). The old show was very family-centric, with visitors (good and bad) showing up for each episode, and the reboot has a much larger character-base to draw from which means that we sometimes get to spend too much time with personalities that are simply uninteresting or completely annoying. While there are pluses and minuses to the expanded universe, the show is already its best when the Robinsons are the primary focus, but it appears that the ancillary characters are a necessary road on our journey through the season's story arc.

Really growing to love the casting. Each supporting character is growing on me - but Will (Maxwell Jenkins) is solidly stealing the show. Very impressed so far.

The marathon continues!

Following on from the revelation at the end of the previous episode, that numerous Jupiter's had managed to land on the planet... and that the main ship was seemingly still in orbit and looking for them, the space family Robinson set about integrating themselves back into a society of other survivors, whilst attempting to contact the mothership for a rescue.

It's perhaps the most surprising leap from the source material, to increase the overall population on the planet more than the just the extended family. But it seems like a necessary one if the intention is to run this series for a while and avoid too much repetition.

The episode also deepens the story surrounding the Robot/Alien. One of the other survivors saw the destruction that he caused and explains it to Judy, who left in temporary charge of her family decides that the robot needs to leave. Over the course of their journey to put the robot somewhere safe, she begins to warm up to it and, in the end, decides not to share this information with her father

Overall, it's a pretty solid if unspectacular episode. After earlier indifference I am warming to all of the family now and am genuinely interested in the changes and mysteries the show has teased. So Far, So good.
