I won't write much about it, because it may spoil your the movie. Fact is, that Alper Caglar as Turkish director and producer is unique. He knows, what the modern viewers want to see and he just implements it in his movies. The special effects, acting, camera movement, dialogues and the implementation of the latest coup attempt in Turkey is just terrific. Here I want to add that my thoughts and prayers are with the martyrs of that coup attempt and their families. Over 250 people gave their lives to stop terrorist Gulenists from taking over Turkey completely.

I am an english teacher at a private school in Istanbul. You can say I'm a long term tourist in a beautiful country. I lived through the events of July 15th 2016. It was an extremely dangerous and polarizing night when against all odds the democratically elected government and the brave security forces won against the shadowy conspiracy of an Khomeini-like cleric and their faction within the military and the police.

This film is about that second group of people. It is a peek into that night when patriotic police and soldiers went through great ordeals to protect against a modern putsch that Turkey might not have survived at all.

The film itself is well acted, action packed and full of triple-A visuals which are an absolute delight considering cinema in Turkey is in its infancy when it comes to action. It is miles better than any in-house production Netflix ever came up with, while clearly being a fraction of the budget.

Even though almost everyone is familiar with the maverick Mr. Caglar who produced the film (I should know all my 12th grade English literature students are fanatics of his style), the two talented directors Emre and Ozduru who weave heart-pounding action and grim drama deserve props. The sublime musical composer Lincoln Jaeger is also world class here, as well as the cinematographer who lights a dark and foreboding urban Ankara where only the brave roam the streets of the putsch. Turks often have trouble relating their point of view to the western world. They have a tempestous love and hate relationship with the democracies of the Atlantic. But this film does and will appeal to the discerning international viewer who wants to enjoy a thrilling slice of the distressing night that Ataturk's republic almost fell.

The TV series was phenomenal compared to movie. Unfortunately our expectation could not be met. We were expecting much more quality for the special effects, better dialogues, storyline.

Alper Caglar is one of the talented and great guy in the Turkish cinema but i believe he took the audience for granted, simply play fast and loose with it.

Note: The scene of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk "The greatest leader and the founder of Republic Turkey" was amazing, moved to tears.

Also thank you for the Kemalist Turkish Army Force and Turkish Polis Force personnel for their sacrifice to stop the terrorist movement called "FETÖ". You will be remembered.

God bless their soul whose martyrize.

Being out on the Bosphorus bridge in July 15 and witnessing civilians killed or wounded in front of my eyes and having faced cold truth of death, I watched the film with tears. Yes dialogs could have been better or civilian dimension was weakly displayed or technicalities may prevented the joy but still it deserves to be seen for the sake of martyrs as it depicts a true story...

15th of July was a dangerous night for the Republic of Turkey. A faction within the security forces including the army, controlled by the infiltrating cult of cleric Fethullah Gulen tried to take control of government in the guise of of heroes. But they were in truth it was the absolute opposite. Jailing innocent secularist officers and police for many years, their shadowy organization was responsible for the injustices and sham trials of the past decade. Through strength gained for the past 40 years, this evil organization sought to make Turkey a new Iran with their cleric at the top. That night, they became very close to achieving it.

It was the dutiful sacrifice of turkish people, that saved the night. Civilians, police and the loyalist soldiers struggled to put a stop to a brutal takeover of power. Most importantly the center characters are police special operation members who were bombed by fethullahist jets and didn't give up even after suffering more than 50 deaths.

It was a terrible and traumatic night for Turkey, brought to the big screen with Börü's wonderful skill of storytelling. It is not just stupid action but also feeling and emotion. It is sadness, feeling of betrayal and the calling of duty. Beginning with the traitorous bombing of PÖH or Police Special Operators center, we get to see and hear the events unfold until dawn from the perspective of those heroic police officers.

Even though Börü was a television miniseries, you can enjoy and be swept away by this film as a standalone. Unlike many turkish films, reality is the main concern here. The reality of their friends being martyred and the reality that their country is about to be overrun by fanatic cultists who have no care for the safety and well being of civilians or their democratically elected government. It is not a political film either. It is about the humble persons who sacrifice their of safety to put a stop to this terrible attempt at capturing governmental control. There are two aspects to the film, the character inner struggles and the outer events of the historical night that happen at the same times.

As you hear the jet and helicopter sound, the events in the capitol of Turkey, if you are turkish you will remember that awful night. But you will also feel for the police heroes at Gölbasi (Ankara district where many of the events took place). Our favorite characters like Kemal and Turan return for the film, even though they are fictional, they represent humble and braveindividuals who always jump into action for the good of their country. This is a drama film with nice action scenes in it. It is an objective applauding of civilians, police and soldiers who together stopped the coup from gaining hold.

There are emotional scenes which will resonate with the viewer because every turkish citizen remembers where they were when this frightful night happened. It was our own September 11 in a way because everyone was shocked and scared at the brutality of the night. We went to the film as a family of five and my police officer mother cried on many scenes because she knows what it took for those good guys to keep on fighting no matter whan even when the night was darkest.

That is what this film is about, fighting for the truth and the good when the night is darkest. We are forever in debt of the heroes of 15th of July no matter which political outlook you have.

Börü (Wolf) was streets ahead of all other tv series in Turkey. I was very hyped for its movie. However, it was really disappointing for me. First lets talk about good parts of the movie. In terms of colors and shooting angles, this movie is a world-class one. Some of the actors did their job really good, in acting of course. Unfortunately, good parts are over.

Now for the bad parts of the movie... First part on my list is dialogues. They are just awful. For a moment i thought i was watching an American movie. Too long stories are told in the movie and because of this some scenes are unnecessarily long and also boring.

Second, visual effects and cgi. I mean, i live in Turkey and i am kinda in its cinema industry and i know it is hard to find financial support. I also know there are no enough skilled cgi and vfx companies in Turkey. But this is not an excuse. It should not be an excuse. You should look for other options. Because vfx and cgi are really important factors in these sort of movies. This movie simply failed in terms of vfx and cgi.

Third, sounds. I really couldn't understand what you tried to do but if your goal wasn't creating an interesting atmosphere then i can say that sounds were bad organized. Sometimes i felt like you forgot to put a sound for a shot or a punch.

Fourth and the last part, casting. Acting of some actors are good in the movie but in my opinion some of the actors dont quite suit for their roles. For example, without wishing to lay down the law, i think Zafer Algöz -i think he is a good actor btw- doesnt really suit for Osman Alan character -which is a character that Americanized-.

Generally, i didnt like the movie. As i said, colors and shooting angles are nice but movie is bad edited. Also some scenes are idle. Didnt satisfy my expectations.

As you know, this is a movie for the finale of the "Börü" series (it was 6 episodes). And, it was too bad even for to be final episode of the "Börü" series. Even some episodes of the series were better than the movie. I was hopeful about the movie. But that was not what I expected. I was almost asleep.

Helicopter chase was extremely long, boring and absurd. That Cobra would have turned that armored vehicle into a Swiss cheese in 10 seconds, with it's 1500rpm gun with 20mm bullets. I think the pilot was drunk. No other explanation. Really absurd...

Dogfight scenes were pretty good. I got what I wanted from these scenes. Effects, sounds, dialogues were accomplished. These were my favorite scenes. And the soundtrack for this part was very nice.

Looks like they can't shoot a good gunfight scene. These scenes were horribly awful. I don't know why is that. I think they're trying to do everything on their own. Doesn't any of you say, "We couldn't do it, I guess."? They already made money from their previous films. Like Dag 2. I doubt you used this money for this movie. There are experts, choreograps for this kind of gunfight scenes, I think you'd better take their help. The same goes for the fight scene in the final. It was bad. Bollywood is shooting better fighting or gunfight scenes. No exaggeration...

Two more things, soundtracks and sounds. I really care about soundtracks. I listen to the soundtrack I like most of time.

Soundtracks weren't great. But they were good enough. It wasn't a minus or a plus for the movie. Just good enough. But it wasn't as pretty as I'd like to listen to.

The sounds are not well organized. You feel that. I think the good and well organized sounds are secret heroes that make a movie good. Most of the time, it's hard to notice them. But you feel that something is missing in their absence. I felt that. Sound design... Please work with people who can handle this.

The script was ordinary, mediocre. If we take a few scenes out, was equal to the quality of a television series. That wasn't the final I was expecting. Nope, sorry.

Storyline was not good. If you don't have any knowledge about coup attempt, you don't understand anything from the movie. Visual effects could be better. The action could have been higher. 3/10

Just a poor copy of American TV series. Too slow, few Action and too many pause. Nice try but fail. After Generation Kill and Over There nothing sounds good
