One of the first scenes filmed was the evil twin in his bedroom. Just when the child actor Dashiell had settled in on his mark, the prop television suddenly caught on fire. No cause could be determined.
As this was just a two-day shoot, the actresses auditioning for the lead were told they did not have to actually cry when reading as long as they had a demo reel. Bobbie Grace had a reel, but she still insisted on crying - she got the part.
