What could be interesting about the film about simple boys from the area and old zekah? Yes, everyone! Moreover, it is not about them, and even not about how someone was carrying someone somewhere, a film about an every minute human choice, the same one that makes us - just us. Sometimes, this choice is not the most correct and rational, and sometimes even life-threatening (and not only ours), but we are all in it, and we do it differently - we are the former morally die, because moral death occurs first in our eyes ...

About the family movie. About the meaning of life. About our cockroaches in their heads, also inherited. Trite. He is simply permeated with reality. The guys know ordinary people and recreate their reality on the screen. Each character you believe as yourself, by the way, brilliant acting and casting. I believe!

The visual solution of the film is quite straightforward, in my opinion, without any special "intertextual matryoshkas" and vague hints. A fairly affordable cinema language, even a very bold one: starting from a color solution (almost the entire gamut of the film is opposing red and green tones, sometimes in its most acidic shades). All this looks lively and pretty, working both for immersion in the inner world of Garlic, and for "decorating" the gray everyday reality, adding aesthetics to the picture. Moreover, the color contrast is achieved thanks to the color light enveloping the characters and location.

A lot of wide angle (and even most of the wide-angle portraits), a lot of steadicum, the camera is sliding, but alive, breathes, lives. In conjunction with the copter, beautiful bokeh, the Dutch shooting angles, scenes in a low key (stretched out on the high sensitivity of the sensor), all this gives a new carrier school. We can not forget the artists, without whom this world would not have been created, and of course, brilliant make-up artists. The film looks very dignified and modern.

The soundtrack for others simply cannot be, it works on history unquestioningly, and it just shakes, setting the right tempo, yyu brothers!

Directing and plot are strong, dynamically dispersing the story, "hold the viewer by the balls" to the very end, throwing in a certain confusion (after the scene of the denouement, it's too metaphorical and imaginative, against the background of the hyperreal of the rest of the movie ... You think: "it's so in life does not happen "and you begin to look for a hidden meaning, which really is there, even if everyone has a slightly different one). So you leave the cinema alone with your thoughts and assumptions. But this is just fine, this is the whole point and beauty of the author's cinema. To do the work in their heads - that's his vocation!

Who doubts - see necessarily. (and yes, in the cinema there is something to see).

And laugh, and be terrified, and mourn, and think, and get aesthetic pleasure in a compartment with pride in their country, in which they still shoot and roll a high-quality copyright cinema.

Basically what you read in the review, is about the storyline: "Vitka Chesnok is an orphan who dreams about breaking free from his family life. Vitka meets his criminal handicapped father. He decides to take him to a nursing home. He doesn't have a clue of what adventures they are about to face." This is what a Russian Tarantino-wanna be would have made, only without a worthy soundtrack. E Tkachuk is indeed a charismatic actor. It is a good sample of not commercial Russian cinema. It is not easy to feel for such characters as these father and son, but eventually it is some fun to watch.

A good russian cinema. Dark and hopeless, as usual. Fun, at the same time. Worth to see once.
