This movie is scheduled to be published in late 2016 and marks the 10th anniversary of the premiere of "An Inspector Calls", Stephan Tauberts own first film, which took place in November 2006. It contains many allusions to his past films, because the protagonist, Phillip Herzog, is also an actor and has his films as his filmography.

Sound Recordist Andreas Müller died during filming in August 2016. The Movie will be dedicadet to him.

When Emilia Heinrich reads Phillip Herzogs biography, she's actually reading Christopher Reeve's autobiography "Still me".

This is the first time Marie Spinka is credited first in a Stephan Taubert movie.

This movie has a lot of intentional parallels to Christopher Reeve and his horse riding accident. Though the budget for this movie was not very high, sometimes things had to be changed. For example: Christopher Reeve broke his neck, Phillip Herzog his spinal cord and is paralysed from the waist down.

This is Stephan Tauberts 13th movie and marks the 10th anniversary of his first film An Inspector Calls (2006). It had found a producer and it could be made better than previously wanted. It was a story Stephan Taubert wanted to film since his teenage years. Christopher Reeve was his idol when he was younger and he did something similar like Emilia Heinrich (Marie Spinka) does in this film. He wanted this story to be as close as possible to the original.

During production there were sometimes a lot of difficulties. Filming was to begin in February 2016, but was moved back to March due to weather and equipment problems. Filming was supposed to end in September, but illnesses and other problems with locations caused it to take place in October. At the beginning an actor, who was supposed to play Rudolf Heinrich was diagnosed with cancer and a new one had to be found. Uwe Choroba took over the role.

The Opening Credits contain clips from all previous movies from Stephan Taubert, starting with An Inspector Calls (2006) until No Smoking! Kein Rauch ohne Feuer (2015). Movies, that are referenced (or clips shown) during the movie are Cast me! Die Show ihres Lebens (2015) and Aus dem Tagebuch eines Vaters (2011)

This movie was first to be filmed in 2014 with a different cast and a different (but similar) story. But due to a long illness Stephan Taubert could not film it and it was canceled. In late 2015 after finishing "No Smoking! Kein Rauch ohne Feuer!" (V) (2015) he choose it again to celebrate his 10th anniversary with it. The script could be improved and due to a larger budget it could be made a lot better.

Marie Spinka (Emilia Heinrich) and Paul Spinka (Oliver) play best friends, who are like siblings. They are brother and sister in real life.

When Emilia Heinrich (Marie Spinka) buys the DVDs at Media Markt, Brutus Schultze (Tom Müller) tells her he has a Phillip Herzog Movie Collection with movies like Patricia (2012). This was Stephan Tauberts 8th movie back in 2012 and starred Marie Spinka in the title role as Patricia.

This movie had 27 official shooting days between March and October 2016.

Stephan Tauberts favorite movie out of all the 13 ones he made until 2016.

When I saw this movie, recently on DVD again, I realized once again what a great performance Stephan Taubert and his team did here. For the fact that he has very little money for his films and always tries to make the best out of it, he has succeeded with "Die Macht der Träume" his best film so far! Certainly not all pf them are trained actors like Marie Spinka in the lead role and Stephan has a lot of experience, but you can see clearly how much they are in the story and bring their characters to life.

Based on the true events of the actor Christopher Reeve, it is about a young man who has a serious riding accident at the peak of his career and then remains paraplegic. For budget reasons, of course, something had to be changed in the story, but the principle is the same. From then on, the young man, Phillip Herzog, with the help of his wife Katharina (Marie Rothe) and his daughter Lea (Ivette Große), struggles to be able to walk again when the young Emilia (Marie Spinka) enters her life and to get some things moving that no one had previously anticipated.

Of all the films that Stephan has filmed so far, this is his best work, great actors, lovingly and strongly staged. It is a pity that his films are not better known.

I watched it with a friend who bought a DVD of Stephan Tauberts movie "Die Macht der Träume" and I just loved it. Is a movie made with heart and love and I am very impressed by it. I know its hard work to make such a movie without a bigger budget, but it's done very very well. Hope this will get more famous.

I caught this on DVD after a friend of mine who'd seen it, told me to watch this film. It looked from the beginning and the topic of this film very good, so I started watching. It's based on real events, I guess Christopher Reeves horse riding acident and some biographical infos of Stephan Taubert himself. All I an say is that I looked after Stephan Taubert and his other works and I am very much impressed. This is really his best film he made so far and I give him a lot of respect for this great work, the great movie and everything that is attached to it. Maybe there were some minor scenes I'd have done in a different way, but it's still great.

A friend of mine told me to bye a DVD from this film, as he saw it in a local screening and was very impressed. Stephan Tauberts film "Die Macht der Träume" (The Power of Dreams) is based on real events, such as Christopher Reeves horse riding accident and his fight to walk again, mixed with some touching - but made up - events, which make this film very touching.

I won't go much into detail, as I don't want to spoil anything. The actors are well chosen, Marie Spinka is brilliant as Emilia and Stephan Taubert gives a very good performance as Phillip Herzog and in directing the whole movie. You can really see how he brought his characters to live and how much love he spend into this film. Ivette Große and Marie Rothe play his wife and estranged daughter, also very good. Uwe Choroba plays the bad guy, very realistic acting. They have some very romantic and touching, and thrilling scenes.

For all the low budget movies out there, this is one of the best.

I had the chance to watch Stephan Taubers movie "Die Macht der Träume" recently and I was very surprised by it. The Trailer already showed its a movie made with lots of love and great respect to the real events, which this movie is based on. He makes his movies out of nothing or at least very small budgets and this is on of his best movies he made. He also celebrates the 10th anniversary of his very first film "An Inspector Calls", which was made in 2006.

The actor Phillip Herzog (Stephan Taubert), just married to Katharina (Marie Rothe) and with a baby on his way, has a tragic horse riding accident and is paralysed from the waist down. Its similar to Christopher Reeve, who was Stephan Tauberts idol and he wanted to make a movie about someone with such a fate and what might be. He was his wife, his daughter (Ivette Große), who has problems cause of that and goes to the wrong friends with bad consequences.

Than there is Emilia, a 16 year old girl with depressions, who gets to know Phillip and his fight by her best friend Oliver. They meet each other and there is a wonderful story about dreams becoming true and people, who never give up to fight for it. I wish it would give more movies like this.

Except from some minor things I didn't like (only a few) it is a great movie, with a wonderful story, great people and other things to love. I hope it gets more attention, because its really wonderful.

Well, what can I say about this film? I saw yesterday the first screening of it and i was very glad I could. Stephan Taubert celebrates the 10th anniversary of his very own first film "An Inspector Calls" with it and it was the best way possible.

The Story is based partly on true events and he puts his own 10 years of filmmaking very good in it. The Actors play their parts very well. Marie Sinka stars again in the title role, an unhappy young girl who looks for a better life and Stephan as an older actor, who fights his paralysis and wants to walk again. They get support from their fellow actors Marie Rothe, who stars well als Phillip Herzogs wife Katharina and Ivette Große, a new actress who plays their daughter. And Uwe Choroba, who plays the bad guy in this film.

But I won't go much into detail, I can only recommend to watch this film when it gets available. It is really a little jewel that should not be overlooked.

Well done, Stephan ;) 10/10
