A group of college boys, bored with the every day "gay life" of LA, decide to skip Pride weekend in exchange for a camping trip in the woods. Overcome by her deadly plan of tainted love and her thirst to take back what was lost long ago, the boys must now band together before they fall victim to the poisons of a broken heart.

Kerwi LLC (which produced the film and had complete control over the cover art) actually tried to pass off a version of cover art that had actors Sean Paul Lockhart and Nick Airus' heads switched for one another. The cover was blasted by fans on social media as being a complete and utter failure as it looked absolutely ridiculous due to the size difference between the two actors. The riot of dissatisfaction it caused with cast, crew, and fans resulted in Kerwi LLC putting the heads back on the appropriate bodies. This act resulted in certain members of the film withdrawing their involvement in promoting the movie any further.

During a late night of filming in Griffith Park, the cast and crew found themselves locked in the park after going over schedule. They had to drive back and forth through the expansive park to several of the parks many entrance/exits before finding an unlocked gate.

The film had been in and out of production since 2006. The fourth attempt made it a reality.

The film originally was slatted to star Benjamin Gilbert (Caleb Carter). After he passed away, the film was put on the back burner until writer/director, James Townsend, had a recurring dream to try to get the film made, one more time.

Donna Michelle, sister of writer/director, James Townsend, was originally slatted to play the role of Malice Valeria.

In 2012, the producers did not want Daniel Berilla to be in the film. James Townsend fought for him to be in the film and won. A week into production, the producers apologized to Daniel in person and admitted the debate James put up, to have him in the film... admitting they were nervous about the selection at first but then very happy with his performance.

James Townsend was originally supposed to play the role of Brett. However, once production was on the fast track, he stepped down from the role, only allowing himself to accept the much smaller role of Brendan.

The Ouija board used in the film was made out of an old cutting board by the mother of the films writer/director, James Townsend.

One of the drag queens featured in the film, Allusia Alusia, served as a backup performer for singer Christina Aguilera during the 2012 American Music Awards.

A number of scenes featuring the character, Malice Valeria, were filmed with her doing her blocking movements in reverse, to give a subtle non-human aspect to her interactions.

Despite having hotel rooms available, the entire cast decided to stay at the main cabin in the film for the duration of the Crestline, CA shoot. They felt "roughing it" would bring them together closer as friends and shine through better on camera.

LA based underwear company, WhiteyTighties, provided the matching black underwear worn by the cast for the film's ending scenes.

Actor, Sean Paul Lockhart, did much of the food preparation/cooking for cast/crew while on location at the main cabin, in Crestline, CA.

The "Wilhite Cabin" was actually an apartment in West Hollywood, CA. The entering and exit of the cabin was done with green-screen renderings of a woodsy exterior.

The "Wilhite Cabin" is named after Erica Wilhite, a friend and previous co-worker of the film's writer/director, James Townsend. Erica contributed a small portion of funds to the film's production and had several lines based on actual quotes and inside-jokes from her.

The drunk-Ouija board scene took an entire night to film. Towards early morning, there was not enough fire wood on hand to keep the fireplace burning. Actor, Sean Paul Lockhart, and writer/director James Townsend took a walk to gather more wood but actually stole or - "borrowed" firewood from a nearby cabins woodpile.

Alough it is establishes that the cabin has 2 bedrooms, the audience only ever sees 1 bedroom entirely. This is because the second bedroom was indeed being used as an actual editing room for the film as scenes were shot, thanks to the low budget and tight scheduling.

The character of Skylar (played by Kyle Blitch) sings "I'm not a squirrel... not yet a beaver..." towards the end of the film. This line is an homage to "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" by singer Britney Spears.

A pink squirrel is hidden in several scenes throughout the film. The pink squirrel has served as the logo/mascot of ITP Productions and is used as an on-going "Easter Egg" in the majority of their films.

The film premiered it's teaser-trailer at Eleven Nightclub in West Hollywood, CA in October 2012 as part of the annual Sassy Halloween Party.

The wedding dress worn by the character Malice Valeria, was purchased from a vintage shop on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Because of this, there were no duplicates and the dress had to be spot cleaned a number of times during make-up effect scenes.

The camping tent scenes were actually filmed in a backyard in Anaheim, CA.

Having seen some of the rough cuts of the film, and having read the entire script, I was excited for the final film to be released. To much surprise, it was finally made available for viewing via DailyMotion. I had a few friends over and sat back for what I knew was gonna be a fun film full of comedy and creepy undertones starring several friends. The morning after, I am sitting here in disbelief. The producers and whomever did the final editing BUTCHERED the film. There are cast members completely left out of the credits, names spelled incorrectly, scenes literally cut in half and no explanation why. What was a smart tongue-in-cheek comedy-horror film has now become a fragmented mess. Sean Paul Lockhart has several scenes cut. Allusia Alusia and Misty Violet are cut. Death scenes are cut. Ongoing jokes sparked from these scenes, pop up as punchlines with no reference how they came about as being on-going jokes in the first place. There are weird b-roll and shots of trees added in that are not color corrected and clearly out of place. The sound is atrocious. What did the final editors do to corrupt this film?! There were a few sound issues with the rough cuts I have seen... but this is just sabotage. The story that does remain is cute... but butchered. The entire cast delivers and come across naturally as friends. The movie-connections and subtle jokes are great. But, clearly people were not seeing eye to eye. What a shame. This team deserves the film to be released how originally intended. I can now see why some of the cast, director, etc. are so upset.

Where do I start... some hot guys, but horrible acting, dumb story, horrible special effects etc etc. Most student movies with a budget of less than $100 are better filmed and acted. The story is about a bunch of gay friends who all happen to look like adult movie stars, who go camping in haunted woods and there are vampires and lots of tomato ketchup on necks and stomachs, but the bad acting is the only thing that I remember really. The only guy who acted well is the guy who plays a total queen, he is funny and believable. Other than that I can't believe anyone wanted their names in the credits. They should have made it a porn, it is almost that at times anyway.

Finally ! After making the rounds of the few gay horror movies out there, this is the first one that I could actually watch back to back without fast-forwarding in hopes of actual scares or naughty bits to while away the boredom.

A group of friends (who do sound like a group of friends, unlike most slasher movies) rent a cabin in the woods to escape the hollow festivities of West Hollywood Gay Pride. Once there, boredom fast settles as they're deprived of their usual party tactics, until a Ouija board awakens the spirit of a Gothic murderess.

Most of the cast is instantly likable, though as a gay man, it's usually cringe-y to admit that, yes, you do talk and act like that. Past that vanity trip, you will invariably identify with at least one of the leads, be it the romantic hunk, the party blonde twink, the lonesome dreamer or, why not, the tested straight friend (if I was straight, I would have killed all of these sissies after one hour).

The director makes good use of the limited settings. For a gay horror movie, it didn't look like a camcorder cheapie. It does compete with low-budget straight slasher.

The obligatory titillation mostly comes from the guys parading bare-chested, and they look good, with the occasional sex scene thrown in. The scares, well, it's not really scary, but there's quite a bit of blood, and the undead murderess was venomous enough. There's no dead time, and the comedy helps make it through the body count and the final twist. Really not bad at all.

I somehow found kissing darkness in a hmv in Manchester uk, As soon as I saw the cover I knew I had to buy it. Basically it's loveable and well made trash. This was clearly made with love and passion, yup the sound is awful, acting awful and plot absolute nonsense but that's why it's so entertaining. It's well edited, at times the Actors pull of long takes which is genuinely impressive! Basically we all had a blast watching it, it's so stupid and daft it will entertain anyone! 7/10

its was a lot more campy then I thought with no schtick.I loved it, one of the better James Townsend movies.I've seen them all. Sean Paul shows great range and a well synergistic cast. It didn't take its self to serious but didn't "Ham" it up for the laughs. I developed a crush on Daniel Berilla even though I hate candy. Who doesn't love a man in a leather harness? I don't know how to write 10 lines of review without spoilers. Without any shade the soundtrack was great and the jump scares I do like the multiple cover art and came for Sean and stayed for the story. Thank you James for not using every gay cliché and gratuitous nudity directors use to pander to their audience.
