This episode was filmed in two ways, one way with Cheryl Ladd as Kris Munroe and another way without her, so as to allow Farrah Fawcett to be added in should she return to the show. When it became apparent Fawcett was not coming back, the episode was completed with Ladd.

Cheryl Ladd wears the same outfit as the knife-thrower's assistant that Farrah Fawcett wore in the season one episode "Lady Killer" when Jill Munroe went undercover as a "Feline" centerfold.

Along with being filmed two ways in case Farrah Fawcett came back, Cheryl Ladd playing as sister Kris Monroe, mentions her sister Jill.

Although only the fifth episode of the second season, "Circus of Terror" was actually the first episode of "Charlie's Angels" that Cheryl Ladd filmed, technically making this her debut as Kris.

A nice little episode. The Angels investigate accidents at a circus, hired by the owner's son whose gypsy father wouldn't approve of crime-fighting women. Kelly plays the spunky motorcycle daredevil "Go-Go". Kris gets knives thrown at her by Denny Miller (Tongo the Ape-man to some of you). Bosley is a carnie who gets hit on by Tinkle "Bosley John Bosley" Bell the midget. Sabrina is a mime novice, and falls for the owner's son, played by James Darren (GIDGET, T.J. HOOKER, THE TIME TUNNEL, and Vic Fontaine of DS9). She gets some great material to work with, both as a strong woman attracted to a man, and as a surprisingly-skilled mime.

This is a typical episode, other than there is no call to Charlie at the end to review the case, but nice as it has many character actors/actresses from the 1960s and 1970s TV shows.Seeing these makes the episode a bit more interesting and entertaining.

A series of accidents has the Barzak family circus on the verge of bankruptcy. Though Yanos Barzak's traditional gypsy values compel him to handle the matter himself, his modern-thinking son David secretly hires the Sabrina,Kelly and Kris to investigate the incident in Circus Of Terror.

The Barzak family circus is plagued by a number of mysterious accidents. The owner's son, David, seeks the Charlie's private investigators to help determine the cause. They must keep their identities a secret from his father, a gypsy who believes in handling his problems on his own-- and also has a problem with women in the workplace. The Angels go undercover with Kelly as a stunt motorcycle rider, Sabrina is a mime and Kris as a knife thrower's assistant. A computer check reveals that he is an East German circus star who recently defected. Anton Tarloff, the clown, is actually behind all of the misdoings. He blames Barzak for his niece's death in a circus accident years earlier, and has become obsessed with driving him out of business. With this, the Angels are able to uncover who is behind all the "accidents" that threaten to close it for good.

This is a very entertaining episode for it involves action in the circus action such as Bike-stunts, knife-throwing, clowning, fake German accents, snakes and a guy wearing a dress. In addition to that,we get to see the continuous great performance by Cheryl Ladd as Kris Munroe as the viewers get lots more reasons to love her more and win their hearts as well. She shines as the young member of the team, who while coquettishly posing for circus owner with a knife thrown near her face which obviously has become a memorable scene since it has always been part of the opening credits since she Ladd joined the show in the second season.Added to that,we get to see Kelly in some motorcycle stunts.

Truly a classic episode!!!!
