Three of the pieces played by Manny are: Rage over the Lost Penny (Beethoven), Piano Concerto in A Minor (Grieg) and Prelude number 21 (Bach).

Bernard's hangover cure consists of: a white chocolate ice cream, a cup of black coffee, a hamburger and chips (and a flake).

The Blind Russian Piano Teacher says "Today's she's a Natural, yesterday she sounded like cats screwing!" Fran Katzenjammer's surname is German for "bad catlike noise".

Manny plays a piece by the Composer Grieg to a character played by Tamsin Grieg.

Nina Conti is a Ventriloquist, and the episode involves the illusion that someone is better at the piano than they really are, because someone else is playing.

I loved this episode so much. If I was going to show anyone this series, I am definitely going to show them this episode. I think it highlights everything that makes Black Books a supremely funny British comedy. Bill Bailey is pure comedic gold in this one. They haven't had comedy this funny and dark since League Of Gentlemen.
