On January 1, 2006, musician Bryan Harvey was murdered in his Richmond, Virginia home along with his wife and their two young daughters. This is where the documentary begins, though this shocking quadruple murder was not the start of the crime spree; the first victim was Treva Gray, who had married a former convict some seven years her junior. She was strangled and buried in a shallow grave.

It didn't take long to bring the perpetrators to book; they were Treva Gray's husband, Ricky Javon Gray, and Ray Dandridge. Altogether they murdered eight people including their co-conspirator Ashley Baskerville. She had been the lover or more likely the ho' of both men. The other two victims were Ashley Baskerville's parents.

Gray was sentenced to death, and later Dandridge was sentenced to life imprisonment. At the time of writing, Gray has not been executed.

There are reconstructions in this documentary but thankfully none of the really gory stuff. Together with the interviews of both legal professionals and family, they paint a shocking picture of wanton savagery that went far beyond the mere robberies seven of these murders were intended to be. Neither man was charged with the murder of Gray's wife, who was apparently killed simply because he had grown tired of her.
