At a quarter to midnight on New Years Eve 1899, Adriaan Lietaard is fatally bitten by his prized green panther snake. He only has 15 minutes to figure out which one of his relatives put the snake in his safe, before succumbing to the deadly poison. Could it be his brother Lodewijk, or his two deadbeat sons Paul or Martijn? All of their wives seem to have a motive, too. Steijn the butler is certain there's a hefty inheritance coming this way.
