The DeFazio Family team competes in the Greased Pole contest to win a trip to Italy for Mrs. DeFazio. Carmine appears in time to save the day...or does he? Laverne is upset to see her father unhappy and she tells her grandmother she does not want to attend Mrs. DeFazio's birthday party. Laverne expects her father to appreciate the solidarity, but he tells her to show her grandmother some respect. With family, especially one from the old country, love is often expressed at multiple decibel level.
