A year after the sitcom ended, Adrian Edmondson joined Holby City (1999) which he played a similar role. In Holby City, Adrian Edmondson played rebellious surgeon Percival "Abra" Durant which he played from 2005 - 2008.

Mina Anwar later had a guest role in Doctor Who: Smile (2017).

Before joining the sitcom, Mina Anwar had a guest role in the BBC medical drama series Doctors (2000) which she played Maria in Doctors: Labour Day (2002).

Doctors and Nurses is a short-lived BBC medical sitcom which starred Adrian Edmondson as sarcastic, pompous and obstinate surgeon Dr. Roy Glover.

Mina Anwar's character draws obvious similarities to her character Maggie Habib in the fantastic 90's sitcom The Thin Blue Line (1995).

I stumbled across this last week when changing channels. When I saw Ade Edmondson and Mina Anwar were in it, I thought I'd be in for an unexpected treat. How disappointed was I to discover a tired, predictable, formulaic sitcom with very few, if any, laughs. Is this trying to be a British "Scrubs"? Why is Ade Edmondson, famous for his anarchic sense of humour, playing a role that appears to have been written for somebody like Peter Davison or Robert Lindsey? Maybe it will develop with time. Mina Anwar is always worth watching and she almost saves the show. But not quite. When you consider the quality of some of the shows on Radio 4 and BBC3 and this gets on air? What is going on? What next, Rik Mayall in a sitcom about a long suffering Dentist with a quirky family and a formidable wife? Oh no, hang on, Robert Lindsey IS in that one!

I was fairly looking forward to this show. Mainly because it boasts a very talented cast. All the stars have featured in popular sit-coms or dramas before. Yet this program is no where near the likes of "Bottom" or "The Thin Blue Line". In fact its very poor. The jokes are obvious and contrived, while to make matters worse there is canned laughter. On the plus side the acting is good with everyone trying their best to work with a poor script. On the whole this is another dissapointing medical sit-com. Which is a shame because there hasn't been a good British one since "Only when I laugh". There is no chance of this getting a second series. I hope.

This comedy starring Adrian Edmondson star of mildly offensive sitcoms Bottom and The Young ones stars as a incompetent Doctor in a poorly run hospital (pretty much like the rest of the NHS), It's not THAT funny but i'ts much better than previous BBC attempts in the last couple of years including the criminaly unfunny ' The Crouches' 'Revolver' 'Mad about Alice' Office Gossip' Trevor's world of sport' 'My hero' and countless others - most of which have lasted only one season or have been relegated to the 11pm graveyard slot The only good BBC Comedy of recent years has been the Robert Lindsay - Zoe Wanamaker sitcom 'My Family' which was written by a bunch of Americans

Final thought:- Not bad - but to many recycled jokes and unfunny situations make this really only suitable for an after Pub watch To be kind I'll give it a 7
