The Eagle Riders are an elite group of 5 young pilots, who are kept busy thwarting the evil Cybercon's plans. They fight in spaceships that can attach to each other, forming a powerful, phoenix-like super-ship.

Only Australia's Network Ten aired all 65 episodes of this adaption. In the US, the show was cancelled after 13 episodes in syndication, due to poor ratings. The UK's local version of FOX Kids never went past episode 47, coincidentally the last episode featuring Gatchaman II material.
The villain Mallanox ("Gel Sadora" in the original) is given a male voice, despite the fact that the character is a female. The dub's writers acknowledge this mistake later in the series, by retconning Mallanox's gender.
The issue of death is avoided or danced around many times, as is the case with most Saban-related animation from the 1990s.
The dub ends after 65 episodes (the typical number of episodes for a syndicated cartoon), with no proper resolution to the plot.
