Wentworth & Sloan is an actual jewelry store. The engraving shop is owned by the same company and was still under construction while filming. The actual jewelry store can be seen across the mall during some of the scenes in the store. The actress playing the sales associate was instructed to stand in a specific spot as to block the view of the signs during the filming from certain angles.
Writer/Director William Lilly wrote the script with Nick Karner in mind for the lead role. They had previously worked together on a short and the character was developed from Karner's personal mannerisms. His costume is the exact same from the previous short they worked on. The part of the sales associate (played by the writer/director's wife) was cast on the day of the shoot. Mikey West, a friend of Nick Karner's, happened to call during the second day of filming and was cast in his role.
The entire footage was filmed in approximately 9 hours over the course of 2 days. The editing and soundtrack mixing took nearly 16 hours spread over 4 days. The final product was completed a mere 24 hours from the late submission deadline for the 2009 Riverrun International Film Festival.
In 2011, a re-cut of the film was made in order to clean up the flow of the film and shorten it a little. A new soundtrack by CutshawKane was added and the overall colors of the film were brightened.
