A family with three young children looks to spread out into their barely-finished basement, but they have no idea how. Anitra and the boys put them to work on a play loft for the kids and a custom media center that'll make family movie night shine. The grown-up half of the Mega Den comes to life with a swanky bar featuring re-purposed nautical hardware, stylish bookcases and storage solutions, and sliding barn doors made from bargain-rack hollow-core doors. On the other side, the kids get a surprise combination arts-and-crafts studio and playroom, decked out in wild paint stripes running around the walls. Anitra works with some local salvage artists to custom-create a couple of killer tables from antique metalwork... and builds her own funky storage unit out of cheap garage shelving. Six-year-old Joey teams up with big Joey for some hands-on carpentry, and four-year-old Macey Jane learns the ancient Japanese art of suminagashi as they leave their own marks on the Mega Den.
