Porn star is a controversial documentary about a main stream culture we don't wasn't to know about. Teenagers are willingly seeking out the porn industry while testing their own boundaries and just for excitement, with participating in strip shows and porn movies. Without moralizing, the film follows a couple of young girls, with main focus on Vanessa (19), which have gotten to know the porn star Rocco, and befriends him, as well as participates in his shows and films. They seek to get known, easy success and love. With this we get to know that porn is an everyday thing in young peoples life. It starts off when we meet Vanessa, which tells she has been seeking out Rocco, and then starts a relationship with him. We follow them seeking out young teenagers to cast in their porn movies. For two years the film maker, John Sullivan, followed the dynamic trio Rocco, Vanessa and their photographer Slick Rick, and Vanessa's starting career as a porn star.

This award winning controversial documentary follows 19 year old "Vanessa" seeking out the porn star Rocco, to find easy fame. She soon gets to be his girlfriend, and participates in his porn movies, and we follow them on the hunt for teenage girls to feature in Rocco's next porn movie. The film makers has followed the couple for more than two years, and investigates in why young girls are attracted to the porn business. Through following what happens, and through interviews we get to know what drives both the porn star and Vanessa. More interestingly we get to see how easily the get contact with youngsters willing to participate, showing a sexualized world with little shyness. We watch them pick up hurls, and take them back home for a film shooting, which will be sold to the porn industry abroad.

This us not a film for those who wants to believe in a world without dangers and bad influences. Interesting and close, and a glimpse into an unknown world right in your back yard.

The film is very raw documentary in style, but that adds to the realism of the storytelling. The film maker shows the most controversial scenes in so shirt clips that you don't get to see much of the porn action, but still there's plenty to be annoyed with if you are faint if heart. We get to see many sides of the industry's bad sides.

A young girls dream of becoming a porn star isn't something that would promote this kind of behavior, and Vanessa also tells she regrets the secrecy towards her family and friends. She also warns about jumping into this industry.
