This game has caused a lot of confusion as to if it's supposed to be the same run as the previous game or an event that takes place after the last? Mainly caused by the fact that all intro and endings have been changed, and a quote from Blanka when defeating Seth, the final boss, "Why would you come back and choose the same useless body?"
This incarnation sees the return of T.Hawk and Dee Jay for the first time since Super Street Fighter II and its alternative versions.
All characters in this game are unlocked from the start. There are no hidden characters in the game. The next version "Arcade Edition" added hidden characters, Evil Ryu and someone else.
Most differences between this version and the previous SF4 include the additions of 4 new characters, 4 reterning characters from Super SF2, 4 new stages, a rebalanced A.I system, easy unlocks to alternate costumes, a new revenge move for each previous character, 2 bonus stages and an expanded online mode. Taken away are the options to view intro and end movies and a final blow after a K.O
