The name of the radio DJ, Elliott Neary, is a combination of character names from two Steven Spielberg films: Elliott from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Roy Neary from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Radio DJ, Elliott Neary works at a radio station called ZE3K SOFT HITS. ZE3K is a acronym variation of CE3K which stands for Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

The first scene of the film (in a confession booth) was not originally written as the scene opener. However, during the editing stage it was decided it would be a better opener because of its humorous tone which leads well into the following mass scenes which are also comedic.

It was difficult to find a human baby to participate in the few scenes in the film. Thus, a baby doll (bought at Toys "R" Us) was used instead. If screened carefully, during the final scene, one could see the plastic head of the doll.

The writer/director has various appearances in the film. The first one is the director at a younger age dancing with his mom in a picture Raul holds in his hands as he is looking at it. The second appearance is actually heard not seen. It is during the mass scenes at the beginning of the film. And the third one takes place at the final scene of the film (the hand that places the three items on the table belongs to the director).
