When Jarrod is the prosecuting attorney that sends Keno Nash to prison all seems well. Nine years later, it is found out that Keno had no part in the crime and will be released from prison. This weighs heavily on Jarrod to the point of meeting Keno on his release and taking him back to the Barkley Ranch for a job. This will prove difficult as most in the Barkley family remember that Keno vowed to kill Jarrod if he was ever released from prison.

Keno will now have to fit back into society but it will be difficult as most people in Stockton know that he is a released prisoner. Some even refuse to work with him due to his past. And after a few situations at the Barkley Ranch, even most of the family is asking Jarrod to get rid of Keno before more problems or even death befall on the family.

It will come down to one situation where Keno has the life of Jarrod in his hands. He will either leave Jarrod dying or save his life. The decision will either be forgiveness or revenge for the act nine years ago.

With many moments in the show that are either tender or harsh, this episode is bound to be a nice show for viewers. A good script and fine acting- will cause this show to be remembered long after viewing.

A mighty fine episode.

Keno is let out of nine years of prison for a crime he was innocent of....Our Jarrod takes him under his wing and helps him re-adjust to life outside.

Barbara Stanwyck's old friend K.T. Stevens ("The Great Man's Lady') appears as Meg, the disillusioned photographer and yellow-toothed Bruce Dern gets a well-deserved back-of-the-hand (slap) from Victoria The acting is above par and the poor individual who played Keno took his own life in reality.

The story is a great one of compassion/jealously/revenge and forgiveness.

This wonderful show usually had a moralistic ending - but it wasn't 'preachy' - just entertaining.

A pair of the nastiest big screen villains ever, Albert Salmi and Bruce Dern highlight this Big Valley story. Salmi is the focus here, but Dern is around to instigate trouble.

Years before when he was a prosecutor, Richard Long prosecuted Albert Salmi for a murder. Salmi did nine years in the joint before evidence was produced clearing him.

Not too many people especially those of the legal profession would have the conscience of a Jarrod Barkley. He gets the family to hire him on at the ranch and Salmi actually shows promise as a blacksmith. But many including Dern resent having him around.

Salmi etches a fine character that will linger with you. He's still a tough dangerous man, but a bit more philosophical with age. I've known people like that who get a bad start in life and can never quite catch up. You see it in his voice and face.

Salmi and Dern are reason enough to mark this Big Valley episode.
