The film started-out as a production created for the 2018 Boston 48-Hour Film Festival.

One of the drop concepts from the original version created for the 2018 Boston 48-Hour Film Project was the use of a flower, which was the required prop for that year. In the initial cut, the flower was briefly used in a scene between Melody and Tony. However, after the film screened for the first few times outside the 48-Hour, the director noticed audiences were laughing at that specific point in the movie. It was at that point that the scene was re-cut, this time without showing the flower, which allowed the scene to not have its flow and tension ruined by something that was slightly comedic.

For that year's Boston 48-Hour, the required character was either Thelma or Thud Taylor, who was a person of action. That served as the inspiration to get creative and introduce the ACTION figure known as Thud "Taylor" in the film.

The film first screened at the December 2018 showing of the Cocktails & Screens Short Film Night in Providence, RI.
