When a mentally unbalanced woman takes a baby from a momentarily unguarded pram, she takes it home in hopes that she might keep it, however, her husband, a scheming salesman, sees it as a money making opportunity when it's learned to baby's father is wealthy. He plants the child on the premises of a woman who had once done as his wife had, and then turns her in for the £5000 reward.
