The characters in this drama are just coming to the fore. Dr. Chance, a psychiatrist who is in the depths of his own depression (our good friend Hugh Laurie), divorced and trying to make ends meet, somewhat vilified by his daughter, becomes enamored of a woman who has an abusive, ex-cop husband (at least we think so for now) and begins to care a bit too much. Because of his ex's carelessness, he needs money and goes to an antique dealer with a beautiful desk to try to get the most for it. There he meets a formidable man who does metalwork, thereby cheating the experts concerning the value of furniture. This man is a lunatic who has continuous vengeance on his mind. He takes Chance on the ride of his life, into the world of his insane violence. We leave this first episode with the realization that this mild-mannered, incredibly sad man is about to do something noble. But what are the consequences? Once again, Hugh Laurie is showing incredible acting chops.

Just watched the first and second episodes and I'm hooked! Chance has got the lot. Great script, acting, characters, locations, etc, that are plausible and thus, transport you and you're sucked in their world. I love it love it love it!
